I’m Jonah - an artist and maker

I’d describe my art, furniture, and showpieces as chromatically creative and charismatic. I’m drawn to rich colors and gritty blacks, shadowy shading and crisp edges, minimalistic concepts and massive scale.

When I’m painting, I like to bring together wood, paper, acrylic, and oil pencils. But when I’m creating large-scale or installation pieces, I gravitate towards wood-based shapes and welded connections. While the media I use varies by piece, every work is experimental.

If you have a custom project in mind - or you’d like to learn more about one of my pieces - let’s connect.

about the studio |

Spall

/ spôl / noun

Splinters and chips split from the whole through carving, shaving, or sculpting. It’s the tactile transformation from raw material to intentional piece.

&

Arc

/ ärk / noun

The movement of electrical energy, as through welding or light refraction.

I’m a mixed-media artist—and I wanted my studio to reflect exactly that. To me, the most exciting pieces pull together different textures, weights, and materials. Whether it’s my own pieces or those I’ve curated, I wanted Spall and Arc to be a place where anything—and any medium—goes.
