The final sketch from my Shadows series. As the natural light pushed against the narrow rail that crosses this piece from 11 o’clock to 3 o’clock, a wide, generous shadow spread across the wall behind it. To better portray the wideness of the shadow compared to the stature of the rail, I re-layered the dimensions—pushing the shadow depiction behind the very wall it darkened.
