From my Shadows series. These brutalist concrete steps were sharp and angular, no matter which way you took them. I was interested in how the double metal railing—blisteringly hot in that day’s summer sun—cast a folding, parallel shadow down the stairs. A subtle reminder along the left side of the sketch serves as an inspiration and a warning.
